Traditional Toys - Capirucho
Almost every region around the world has some type of toy in their history that involves catching one object strung to another. Kendama may be one of the most modern examples, but it is far from the only game of its type. Most are still made and played to this day but don't spread far from their location of origin. We wanted to explore these Traditional Toys, make our own versions, and help share them further with the world.
CAPIRUCHO
The Capirucho is the the toy that set us on the journey to recreate more tradditional wooden games from around the world. With "Yank Spikes" being such an iconic part of the kendama community, it's no surprise that the Capirucho (aka Geeker) picked up so much love from kendama players right away. Originally from Guatemala and El Salvador, variants of the Capirucho can be seen all over South and Central America. Traditionally the sizes of this toy is a bit smaller, but this version fits the hand a bit nicer without having to pinch a small spike.
This variation of the Capirucho was designed by Kendama Depot.
These Capirucho come with extra-long string that is meant to be shortened to your preferred length.
